STRATEGIC ISSUES:

  8. Initiating programs for inclusive and differently able people
  9. Initiating programs on different development sectors for marginalized group of people
  10. Strengthening the local NGO-initiatives that help program implementation and ensuring cost effectiveness
  11. Exploring and mobilizing available domestic resources at the highest level of program interventions

STRATEGIC ISSUES WITH DIRECTIONS:

ISSUE 1. STRENGTHENING INSTITUTIONAL CAPACITIES OF SAP-BANGLADESH AND ITS PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS

  1. Development of human resources that include the staff members of SAP-BD and its partner organizations
  2. Development of policy and Systems on financial transactions, information technology, monitoring, networking, and career development of staff members
  3. Leadership enhancement and development of secondary leadership
  4. Support partner organizations in implementing service delivery program
  5. Develop resource center that provides and disseminates reliable information to both internal and external environment

ISSUE 2. STRENGTHENING INSTITUTIONAL CAPACITIES OF THE GRASSROOTS’ ORGANIZATIONS

  1. Strengthening right-based approach in program designing, planning and implementation
  2. Strengthening health, hygiene, nutrition & sanitation of grass-root communities
  3. Increase community participation and raising voices of poor people, especially the women’s voices in decision making and policy formulation
  4. Strengthening the grassroots’ organization towards institution building through undertaking long-term and sustainable program
  5. Enhance capacity building of program participants and leadership development
  6. Strengthening community-led programs

ISSUE 3. DEVELOPING ECOLOGICALLY BALANCED ENVIRINMENT

  1. Developing awareness on the preparedness and strengthening support to disaster management
  2. Strengthening community-based environment management Programs
  3. Organizing and developing local volunteers/youths for emergency disaster management
  4. Providing emergency support to address the disasters

ISSUE 4. STRENGTHENING ORGANIZATIONAL SUSTAINABILITY

  1. Strengthening microfinance program growing partnership with Banking & Non-banking financial institutions
  2. Exploring and mobilizing available domestic resources at the highest level of program interventions and generating own fund
  3. Identifying pro-poor and sustainable programs, and developing long-term partnership with donors
  4. Strengthening existing income generating programs
  5. Undertaking innovative long-term, right-based programs, and developing model programs
  6. Establishing and promoting best practices of organizational culture and values
  7. Developing internal control and anti fraud mechanism
  8. Market driven enterprise development partnership with skilled feasible stakeholders

ISSUE 5. STRENGTHENING GOOD GOVERNANCE AND DEMOCRACY PRACTICES

  1. Establishing good governance within organization and partner organizations
  2. Providing support to ensure human rights and political rights towards community empowerment
  3. Enhancing empowerment of elected public representatives and promoting participatory decision making process
  4. Strengthening transparency and accountability at all level of the organization

ISSUE 6. DEVELOPING GENDER EQUALITY AND EMPOWERMENT OF WOMEN

  1. Establishing gender equity within the organization and partner organization
  2. Mainstreaming gender in program designing, planning and implementation
  3. Increasing participation of women in the local political process in terms of establishing voter rights, decision making, and empowerment
  4. Strengthening capacity of the members of local government to manage basic service delivery in a participatory, accountable and gender sensitive way by working closely with the CBOs
  5. Developing gender policy and its effective implementation

ISSUE 7. DEVELOPING CHILD PROTECTION AND CHILD RIGHTS

  1. Developing policy strategies in establishing child rights and ensures protection
  2. Advocacy to ban Physical and Humiliating Punishment of children in all settings
  3. Capacity development of parents/caregivers and teachers on Positive Discipline techniques
  4. Address online child sexual abuse and exploitation
  5. Strengthen families and communities to reduce vulnerabilities of children to violence
  6. Contribute to national and community based child protection system strengthening
  7. Be part of a movement to make violence against children socially unacceptable

ISSUE 8. DESIGNING AND INTEGRATING PROGRAMS FOR INCLUSIVE AND DIFFERENTLY ABLE PEOPLE

  1. Initiating programs for inclusive, mentally and physically disable group of people
  2. Developing capacity of mentally and physically disable group of people including adolescent and youths
  3. Establish networks and linkages with the relevant organizations
  4. Integrating other development programs with the issues of inclusiveness and disability

ISSUE 9. ENHANCINING DIFFERENT DEVELOPMENT SECTORS FOR THE POOR AND MARGINALIZED GROUP OF PEOPLE

  1. Initiating programs for different development sectors for poor and marginalized group of people
  2. Contributing to the national sector development programs undertaken by the government
  3. Enhancing sustainable agriculture and ensuring livelihood security
  4. Improving reproductive health situation and developing planned family
  5. Developing early childhood and adolescent of the poor and marginalized families
  6. Provide support to the government policy implementation in increasing literacy rate in the country through primary education

ISSUE 10. STRENGTHENING THE LOCAL NGO-INITIATIVES TO HELP THEM EFFECTIVE PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

  1. Developing systems of financial transactions at all level of local NGOs
  2. Developing institutional capacity and professionalism at all level of  the organization
  3. Providing support to capacity development for effective program implementation
  4. Institutionalizing the information sharing and networking
  5. Developing systems and long-term policies for financial management

ISSUE 11. EXPLORING AND MOBILIZING AVAILABLE DOMESTIC RESOURCES AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF PROGRAM INTERVENTIONS

  1. Interlinking programs and promoting cost effectiveness
  2. Initiating contributory programming
  3. Mobilizing local Resources and strengthening community efforts
  4. Introducing long-term and sustainable cost recovery system
  5. Mobilizing local resources and inclusion of  women and the youth in the process
